Politics to life in general, a view from a slightly right of center/off-kilter guy.

Travel agencies are dinosaurs
Contributed by: Brian Olson   on 7/6/2008

I see that Polk Majestic Travel Agency is advising people not to book Frontier for winter holiday travel.

Well, I have two words for Polk non-majestic: BOOK ONLINE.

Frontier is struggling, they might not make it but I hope they do. Polk's stupid statement is just that, stupid.

Who needs travel agencies? Other than the few specialized agencies that book exotic tours to places like Africa, it's far easier and cheaper to book online.

Polk was just looking to gain some cheap publicity at the expense of Frontier Airlines.

What is especially disappointing is how the media jumped on this. You think they'd know better. Online travel planning has been the way to go for years.

So Polk decides to take a cheap poke, and everyone is planning Frontier's funeral.

Believe me, it's the travel agencies that are headed for six feet under and I hope Polk non-majestic is first of the lot.

Do yourself a favor, book online and save money at the same time. Travel agencies like Polk non-majestic are just looking to make a buck doing what you can do for yourself. Plus you can do a better job.
