Back during the days of the Nixon Administration, there was an "Enemies" list, mainly the news media. Kathereine Graham of the Washington Post, (She employed Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein) Daniel Schorr and Dan Rather neared the top of the list.
They invented the word "Paranoid" just for the NIxon gang. It all of course ended up with Watergate, subverting the Constitution and a humiliating resignation by Nixon. A brilliant man in some ways, especially in foreign policy. But it was his attacks on the media, the messenger that brought him down.
Meanwhile we have Hugo Chavez, El Supremo in Venezuela, elected for life at gunpoint. He just nationalized HIlton Hotels in his country, he thought they were "too cheeky." He's also taken to taking away the broadcast licenses of television and radio stations that dare be critical of him along with his BFF's which include Cuba's Fidel Castro and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadi Neijad.
This past weekend, representatives of the Obama Administration identified those who are to blame for soaring deficits, high unemployment and essentially stalled government.
George Bush and FOX News. Bush retired almost a year ago. FOX News hasn't, and won't.
The Bush blame game has been going on for a couple of years now and is wearing thin. FOXNews by contrast is a rather new "enemy." Communications Director Anita Dunn says FOXNews really isn't a news organization. Other members of the Obama administration urge other networks to stay clear of stories generated by FOX like ACORN and the aforementioned deficit and high unemployment and the odd scaliwag czar "appointees."
Anita Dunn by the way idolizes former Chinese leader and mass murderer Mao Zedong. She thinks his quotes written between murdering his countrymen are words to live by.
Obama's inner circle are all from Chicago, arguably one of the most corrupt cities in all of America. Led by Frank Nitty, uh, Rahm Emmanuel it's bare knuckle politics.
Cutting to the point, FOX News IS a legitimate news organization. If you don't like them, you have mulitple choices elsewhere. They clearly label opinion vs news content.
So why doesn't the Obama gang take them on? Show up, take the questions and fire back? Because they don't have the courage and they don't have the answers. So they just blame the messenger.
This is all paying off big-time for FOX News. Ratings have never been higher and they're just digging deeper.
So far the Obama Administration isn't taking away the licenses of outlets who dare report stories uncomfortable to them.
At least not yet. Um Um Um.
