A political pundit said most of us live life between the 40 yard lines. I'm one of them. Most of the time. Sometimes I'm right of center, sometimes the other way around.

Pink Skunks Still Stink.

No two words shake the bones of the collective bureaucracy in Washington like "Public Option."

It's on life support in both the House and Senate. So House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has re-named it as the "Consumer Option." Another name being floated around is "Competetive Option." Harry Reid proposes an "Opt-Out Option."

You can dye a skunk pink but it will still stink.

Meanwhile, the best idea I've heard about at least funding whatever monstrosity they finally pass comes from John Podesta, who is a reasonably coherant Democrat. Podesta says we should simply legalize marijuana, tax it and use the proceeds to help pay for the projected $1 Trillion cost of healthcare "reform."

Dude!

60 MINUTES tv show had a good report on Medicare fraud last Sunday. It is already costing us tens, maybe hundreds, of BILLIONS of dollars per year in false, outright criminal, claims. The government wants to run ANOTHER health care plan now, only this time it will be better? Puh-LEEZE. There are so many things wrong with the proposed National Health Care Plan (no tort reform, no interstate competition amongst private health care plans, no individual rights or responsibilities to have ANY health care or not), that I can't find anything GOOD about it. As Henny Youngman might have said, "just take my MIND, please!!".
