"Oh, no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors..."-Charlie Rich.
Works for affairs of the heart in country music songs, but not government policy, but closed doors seems to be the approach for the many versions of healthcare reform being floated about.
The Bill that was voted out of the Senate Health Committee was actually posted online for a while, then disappeared. That's 'cause soon-to-be-former Senator Harry Reid re-wrote it.
He did it behind closed doors. One thing he did share was an "Opt-Out version" of the Public Option. Which is a Cop-Out.
What's not known is if Texas for example would decide to opt-out, would they still get stuck with the tab paying for California, which I predict will not opt-out.
Two things are obvious, Congress doesn't want us to know what they're doing but I guarantee some sort of health care "reform" bill will pass like a bad fart. They'll feel better, say they accomplished something but it will stink.
Who cut the cheese?? We'll never really know. It will be heavily loaded with front-end "revenue enhancers"so they can fudge the books and say, "See, we toldyou it wouldn't cost you money." Actual real changes in healthcare won't come for a decade. It will be for the worse.
Buy now, resultslater.
Maybe.
What goes on behind closed doors? It will have to be a surprise. But Senator Joe Lieberman caught a whiff, and he says he'll join in a philibuster against it.
Trick or treat!!
