A political pundit said most of us live life between the 40 yard lines. I'm one of them. Most of the time. Sometimes I'm right of center, sometimes the other way around.

Green energy short on green

Gov Ritter...Mr. Green. Welcome to Colorado, Windmills, Solar Panels.

All well and good except for the fact there's no green to buy green.

Ascent Solar? Their stock is rated "F" by Schwab.
Vestas? The company is slowing back on hiring. Windfarms are great but they need capital financing and none is available.

Ditto for other "Green" Colorado companies.

The banks, to whom we lent billions of dollars in Tarp money aren't lending it to people to build "green" projects. The only ones going up are at places like DIA and the Federal Center.

Which of course, we pay for.

So until the green starts flowing, Ritter's "Green Economy" is so much hoo-hah. But we're used to that coming from him over the years.

Regardless of all the news conferences announcing green this and green that, the reality is, there is no real green to sustain it.

Myth, make believe, once upon a time, stuff.
