The Highlands Ranch Metro District is kicking off National Parks and Recreation Month July 1 by offering free activities throughout the month. Individuals are encouraged to get outside and enjoy the wonderful parks, trails and open space areas available in Highlands Ranch."The Metro District and our community partners are excited to provide free opportunities in our own backyard for the adults and youth in Highlands Ranch," said Tom Hoby, director of parks, recreation and open space. "With more people looking for vacation alternatives this summer that don't hurt the wallet, the Metro District encourages people to enjoy the family entertainment opportunities that abound in our community."
Parks and Recreation Month in Highlands Ranch kicks off July 1 with the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument dedication and concert. Guests can enjoy a ceremony and free patriotic concert at Civic Green Park. The dedication begins at 6:30 p.m.
Highlights of other activities offered throughout the month of July include a free night at the Redstone Park Batting Cages, an afternoon with Skyhawks Sports Camp, a horseshoe social, and a self defense class hosted by United Studios of Self Defense. The Highlands Ranch Community Association is also hosting a summer concert series every Thursday night and a weekly Farmer's Market Sundays at Town Center.
Metro District community partners include the HRCA, Skyhawks Sports Camp, Namaste Works Yoga + Wellness, Douglas County Libraries, Grand Golf Park, SportXcel, Overhaulin' U Fitness Boot Camp and United Studios of Self Defense.
