LITTLETON - Ever have a hard time finding stories that deal with local subjects on the Internet? You're not alone. The Web seems overrun with content that's generic and unhelpful if you're looking for local information.
That's where Local Content Now, a new Littleton-based company offering unique website content to Internet businesses, comes in. Having just opened its doors in December, the company hopes to help fill the void of local stories on the Web.
A clamoring for original stories on the Web
Ginny Bayes, managing partner of the new company known for her work as CEO of Harvest Moon Publishing and Bayes & Associates Advertising, says of the new firm, "Once we went online with our company website, we immediately heard from numerous online businesses that desperately needed local stories but were having a difficult time finding writers. We've been able to write original content that is truly customized to specific websites and reflects the flavor of the cities where companies operate.
Helping Colorado Web Businesses
Local Content Now's growing list of clients includes both local and national firms, such as Power2Transform and American Web Design, but Bayes hopes to work with more Colorado-based companies.
"Being a Colorado native, it's important to me to help as many local businesses as we can," says Bayes. "Our management and writing team members know the Denver area and mountain communities so well, that's its natural to offer stories that focus on Colorado."
Tips for Better Website Content
According to Bayes, many companies miss the mark with their websites by never telling potential customers what the benefits are of doing business with them. "Companies have to immediately communicate what's in it for customers," she says. "Web viewers are sophisticated enough to quickly recognize whether a website has something genuine to offer, and if they it doesn't, they move on to the next site."
To capture the attention of a visitor to a website, Bayes recommends making your writing direct and concise. "Keep your paragraphs short and use subheadings to break the content into sections. She points out the web viewers do not read website content but rather visually scan information to see if a site has what they're looking for, "so writing to capture a web viewers attention is vital."
Advice on website design
Whether a company needs original web content, ezine articles, press releases, or blogs for its customers, Local Content Now offers solutions. "We also give clients advice on how to improve their website's navigation and page design to make it easier for their customers to explore their website," Bayes says. "We work hard to help companies grow their web businesses while providing a better online experience for their customers."
