Douglas County will adhere to the following schedule for the upcoming 2008 Presidential Election:

1. The Blue Book providing details on tax-related issues on the November Ballot will be delivered to the post office by Oct. 3. The Blue Book will be mailed (one copy per household) to all active, registered voters and will include a Douglas County Sample Ballot. Sample ballots will also be available on DouglasVotes.com on or before Oct. 3.

2. The "Mail-In Ballot" will be delivered to the post office by Oct. 10. These ballots will be sent to all individuals who have requested a Mail-In Ballot for the 2008 General Election. Information about individual voter status can be found at DouglasVotes.com by clicking the "Am I registered?" box.

3. Early Voting begins Oct. 20 with 11 Early Voting sites. Times and locations for Early Voting will be available at DouglasVotes.com on or before Oct. 3. Voters who didn't request a Mail-In Ballot can vote at any one of the 11 Early Voting locations.

4. On Election Day, Nov. 4, voting will be conducted at 42 polling sites from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Individual voters will need to visit their specific polling site, which can be found on DouglasVotes.com. In addition, each voter who didn't request a Mail-In Ballot will receive a yellow signature card indicating their specific polling site for Election Day. Yellow signature cards will be delivered to the post office by Oct. 15. Voters should bring this card when they come to vote at any of the Early Voting sites or at their assigned polling site on Election Day to speed up the voter check in process.
