Parker, CO - Center of
Awakening (COA), an independent Religious Science church, has moved to a new location for its Sunday services. Regular church services are now being held at Sagewood Middle School (4725 Fox Sparrow Rd., Parker 80134) at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday. The Youth Church program is also conducted at that time and childcare is available for the little ones.
Center of
Awakening has been part of the Parker community for several years now and will be celebrating its fifth anniversary as a church on January 25. A special "Hawaiian theme" gala is being planned for that evening at the Mainstreet Gallery in downtown Parker, beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will be music, presentations, special guests, light snacks and even activities for the children.
Rev. Dr. Vern Martin, Senior Minister, has been the driving force behind the growth of COA, and will be recognized for his efforts as well. He has been instrumental not only in the church's development, but also in the creation and expansion of The Institute at Center of Awakening. The Institute is the educational division that offers a variety of accredited, spiritual classes that apply toward Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degree programs in Religious Studies, as well as toward Ministerial licensing. Dr. Vern's experience as a teacher - coupled with his gentle manner, years of wisdom and quirky sense of humor - make him a favorite instructor among students at The Institute and a beloved minister by congregants.
