Rock Canyon High School principal
Dan McMinimee has been named Douglas County School District director of schools for the Ponderosa feeder area, effective July 1.
McMinimee said he will be working directly with the principals of Franktown, Iron Horse, Legacy Point, Mountain View, Northeast and Pioneer elementary schools, Sagewood Middle School and Ponderosa High School on supporting school improvement and curriculum and providing quality education throughout the district.
"My job really is just to support them as they run their schools," McMinimee said. "My goal is to make sure I do a great job of supporting those principals and their staff to continue to provide quality education in the schools in Douglas County School District."
McMinimee helped open Rock Canyon High School and has been the school's only principal during its four years. He first joined Douglas County School District in 2002. RCHS staff sad they are happy for McMinimee's promotion, but are sad to lose "such an outstanding leader and friend."
DCSD has hired Chaparral High School assistant principal
Kim Rauh as Rock Canyon's new principal.
