Tales & Trails at Castlewood Canyon
Contributed by: Jennifer Pavlik on 5/15/2008

Dust off your hiking boots and head to Castlewood Canyon for a beautiful spring hike with a twist. Explore the Canyon View Nature Trail with park volunteers, stopping occasionally to hear tales spun by experienced storytellers -- members of the Douglas County Chapter of Spellbinders. It all takes place Saturday, May 31, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Don't forget your water, sunscreen, and bug spray. All ages welcome, no registration required. There is a $6.00 fee to enter the park, unless the patron has a State Parks Pass.

To reach Castlewood Canyon State Park, take I-25 to Exit 182 at Castle Rock. Go east on Highway 86 for six miles to Franktown. Turn south on Highway 83 (S. Parker Road) and go five miles south to the park entrance.
