Girls Greet Others for Holiday Haunts

Twenty-three girls from two troops at Saddle Ranch and Stone Mountain Elementaries visited patients at LIttleton Hospital on October 30 to share a little Halloween joy.

As part of a service project started five years ago, the girls from both troops took Halloween bags and treats to 50 patients at Littleton Hospital. Originally conceived as a way to celebrate Halloween for children stuck in the hospital for the holiday, the girls wanted to give treat bags to children unable to trick or treat. Fortunately for the children in the community, only 4 children were present to receive gift bags that night.

The girls were fortunate to take their treat bags to other patients, and were able to deliver all 50 bags they contributed to and prepared. The girls learned how to interact with the patients and were very thrilled about the appreciative nature of the patients visited. Overall, they learned that helping others helps themselves.
