Douglas County Deputies arrested a Highlands Ranch teen for impersonating a police officer after it was discovered he contacted a teen sitting in a car, handcuffed him and put him in the back of his car.
At around 12:30 a.m. April 13, deputies responded to the 2600 block of Danbury Lane in Highlands Ranch on the report that a 19-year-old male had been handcuffed by someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer. Upon arrival, it was learned that two teens were sitting in a car waiting for their friends while they "tp'd" another friend's house.
While there, a man drove up and got out of his car and contacted the occupants, identifying himself as a police officer and holding a badge in his hand. The male suspect ordered the driver out of the car, handcuffed him and placed him in the back seat of the suspect car.
The suspect then went back to the victim car and spoke with the other occupants. He ordered them to clean up the "tp", then went back to his car and let the victim out and un-handcuffed him. He then got in his car and drove away. The victims stated that they did not know the suspect.
Deputies were able to contact the friend of the intended "tp'ing" and obtain a possible suspect name. It was determined that the suspect lived in Highlands Ranch and when deputies arrived at the address they found the suspect vehicle in the driveway and inside they spotted a badge and handcuffs. They also found empty beer bottles in the car. The suspect was contacted then taken into custody.

Archuleta posted a $3,000 bond on 04/13/08 and was due back in court the morning of 04/14/08.
This is still an open investigation and more information may be released once it has officially been filed with the District Attorney's Office.
