Deputies arrest Fort Collins man for luring

Sheriff's office says man worked at in-home daycare in Fort Collins

A 27-year-old Fort Collins man was arrested April 29 after he attempted to lure what he believed were 13- and 14-year-old girls over the Internet. Parker Police detectives and deputies with the Hi-Tech Crime Unit of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office arrested Kenneth Vickers in Fort Morgan.

Vickers faces two counts of Internet luring of a child and 18 counts of Internet sexual exploitation of a child. He remains in custody on a $75,000 bond.

The sheriff's office says Vickers started the online conversations in early March.

Detectives eventually learned his full name, where he worked, the vehicle he drives and an associated address. With this information and the online conversations, detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the address he resided at and an arrest warrant for Vickers.

When detectives arrived at the location, they learned that it was also an in-home daycare. They alerted the Fort Collins Police Department and Child Human Services, who responded to the location.

Vickers was not at the Fort Collins location, but they learned that he was in Fort Morgan. With the assistance of the Fort Morgan Police Department they located Vickers and took him into custody without incident.
