Commissioners Elect New District Leaders
Contributed by: Douglas County on 6/29/2007

Celebrating its 100th year anniversary this year, Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) is a state-wide association of county commissioners. CCI assists commissioners in delivering cost effective and efficient services to their constituents, fosters collaborative partnerships with citizens and all levels of government, and enhances knowledge of public policy issues through membership education.

CCI also promotes regional conversations through its five different districts. Each district meets at least three times a year to discuss issues of common concern. They are led by a President and Vice President who are elected by their peers and serve a one-year term. Elected Presidents and Vice Presidents exude sound leadership and consensus building skills.

On Tuesday, June 12, District Presidents and Vice Presidents were elected for all five districts. CCI congratulates the following commissioners for this honor.

Eastern District:
Morgan County Commissioner Tony Carlson, President
Yuma County Commissioner Trent Bushner, Vice President

Front Range District:
El Paso County Commissioner Dennis Hisey, President
Douglas County Commissioner Jack Hilbert, Vice President

Mountain District:
Fremont County Commissioner Larry Lasha, President
Teller County Commissioner Jim Ignatius, Vice President

Southern District:
Prowers County Commissioner Gene Millbrand, President
Alamosa County Commissioner George Wilkinson, Vice President

Western District:
San Miguel County Commissioner Elaine Fischer, President
La Plata County Commissioner Wally White, Vice President
