For the third year in a row, the Metro District of Highlands Ranch is rounding up volunteers in an effort to clean up Highlands Ranch open space areas.
"Renew the Ranch: A Community Clean-Up Effort" will take place this year from 9 a.m. to noon April 5.
Volunteers will meet at Foothills Park, 1042 Riddlewood Drive, in Highlands Ranch, and spend the morning cleaning up surrounding natural open space areas.
Although the event is just around the corner, Metro District Community Relations Coordinator
Jenn Garber
said they still could use some volunteers. Those interested in volunteering can call Garber at 720-240-4909 or send an e-mail to
jgarber@highlandsranch.org
.
Garber said about 50 volunteers helped out last year. She said she expects as many volunteers this weekend.
"No matter how many people we have, we get so many trash bags back," Garber said. "It's so nice to see that people are very eager to do this and take pride in their community," Garber said.
After the event, volunteers are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch at Foothills Park.
Potential volunteers should call 720-240-4909 the morning of the clean-up to check the event status in case of bad weather.
