Contributed by: Lt. Alan Stanton on 12/6/2005

On Dec. 7, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office new and improved
Web site will be online and available to the public. The new format and content will allow users easier access to information pertaining to the office.
The Web site redesign has been an ongoing project by the Sheriff’s Office. Our intent of the redesign was and is to make the site more user friendly and to make its content helpful for those that utilize it. As with any new site, it is something that can be modified at any time to better serve the community. Users can leave comments by contacting us through the Web page Contact Us link, which is on the home page.
The Web site’s home page is categorized into main areas of the Sheriff’s Office and other areas of interest. In addition to information about the Sheriff’s Office, online services are also available to the user such as the House Watch Program where citizens of unincorporated Douglas County can have Sheriff’s Deputies check on their home when out of town on vacation.
Other services include online reporting of certain criminal offenses. Online reporting, will allow citizens a choice and convenience when reporting certain kinds of offenses to the Sheriff’s Office.
Douglas County Sheriff David Weaver, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are committed to the community and the citizens that we serve. It is through projects such as this, that we are able to proactively reach out with informative and helpful information for our community.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Web site is:
