Douglas County Sheriff's Office: Man shoplifts comb


Man shoplifts comb. At 3:10 p.m. Oct. 10, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to King Soopers, 8673 S. Quebec St., Highlands Ranch, on a report of a theft. Store security told deputies a 26-year-old man exited the store. The man also had a knife in his pocket, which he told deputies was for cutting the plastic grocery bags covering his feet from the snow. The man was arrested.

Fight thwarted. At 12:55 a.m. Oct. 10, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to Lodo's Bar and Grill, 8545 S. Quebec St., Highlands Ranch, on a report of a fight. A 23-year-old man told officers a 25-year-old man hit him in the face for no reason. After talking to other witnesses, deputies discovered both men had been fighting. The men were issued summonses for disorderly conduct.

Pumpkin chuckin' damages car. At 7 a.m. Oct. 19, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a damaged car on the 2800 block of E. Clairton Drive, Highlands Ranch. A 27-year-old woman woke to a smashed pumpkin near her car and a $1,000 dent on her trunk.

Man tries to take cart full of diapers. At 3:13 p.m. Oct. 21, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Safeway, 9255 S. Broadway St., Highlands Ranch, on a report of a theft. Store security said they spotted a man push a cart with $250 worth of diapers out the door and then run from the store.

Car break-in at theater. At 5:14 p.m. Oct. 15, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a theft at the AMC Theatre, 103 Centennial Blvd., Highlands Ranch. A woman told deputies the small right-rear window was broken on her Jeep Liberty and her purse and wallet were missing from the Jeep after returning from a movie.

$340 worth of items taken from car. At 5 p.m. Oct. 13, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home on the 3300 block of Astorbrook Way, Highlands Ranch, on a car break-in. Among the items missing from the car were a black iPod and a Puma backpack.
