YourHub.com Q&A: Lisa S. Weinstein
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 4/16/2008

Metro District of Highlands Ranch Board of Directors candidate Lisa S. Weinstein

My age: 35

My family: My family consists of my husband Robert and our two year old daughter Ryley.

Education: I received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Law Degree from The University of Denver. I also am a licensed Real Estate Broker in Colorado.

What I do: I have two separate businesses - I work as a Real Estate Broker for Marilee & Co, a Metro Broker Co focusing on the Highlands Ranch area and I work with Colorado Water Plans as an Attorney working with special districts, governmental agencies and helping landowners establish their water rights.

My favorite place in town to hang out: I love to explore all of the parks and nature areas and spend a lot of time in all the outdoor areas in the community.

What I like most about living here: I believe Highlands Ranch is an exceptional place to live and raise children because of the family friendly atmosphere, great schools and activities that are available.

My interests and hobbies: I love the outdoors and my family and I are constantly going to parks, walking the trails and participating in community events. My hobbies include cooking, reading and family fun.

My favorite thing to cook: I make a mean chili but also love to experiment with new flavorful recipes.

People who inspired me (and how): I have been inspired by the minister at my Church who challenges me to think and not just follow.

How I have contributed to the community: As a Real Estate Broker I continually try to do what I can to keep property values up in the community. I also belong to various community groups including a local mom's group.

The biggest issues facing Highlands Ranch now: Maintaining property values, water supply and high quality of living while energy and other costs are rising. There is also a lack of indoor play areas for wintertime use.

Why I am running: I have fresh and new ideas to improve Highlands Ranch while saving families money without increasing property taxes or HOA fees. I wish to promote energy saving and green technology in order to increase demand for people to live in Highlands Ranch resulting in greater property values. In short, I will promote Highlands Ranch so that it continues to be the best family community in Colorado.
