My family: Husband,

Damian, 33, a practicing attorney in South Denver;
Corey, 30, a researcher at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
What I do: Douglas County Deputy assessor for the past 7 1/2 years, on staff and as a supervisor in the assessor's office for 11 years prior. Experience in the private section includes office management, real estate, surveying and drafting, bookkeeping, graphic design and secondary education.
Favorite place in Douglas County to hang out: Outdoors - in Pike National Forest, Castlewood Canyon, Chatfield Reservoir or my garden.
What I like most about living here: Wonderful people, open spaces, great climate, and proximity to the mountains.
My interests and hobbies: Scuba diving, travel, boating, waterskiing, camping, snow skiing, gardening.
My favorite thing to cook: I love to bake, but particularly chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake and rhubarb pie.
People who inspired me: My Dad, my grandmother, my high school English teacher and my college art history professor.
How I have contributed to the community: When our children were growing up, I was very active as a coach, fundraiser, and leader in youth activities including scouting, soccer, wrestling, choir, swimming, football, and theater. Since our children have been grown, my community activities have centered around Rotary Club, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and other volunteer opportunities.
What are the biggest issues facing Douglas County now: From a county-wide perspective, growth and water resources are among the biggest issues facing the County.
