Mark Sievers received 58% of the votes in the House District 45 race.
The Republican assembly for the state representative in House District 45 was held on Saturday, March 1, at Castle View High School.
House District 45 includes Castle Rock, most of southern Douglas County, and all of Teller County. Vic Mitchell, who will not seek re-election this November, is the current representative.
Mark Sievers received 58% of the votes cast, and Carole Murray received 42%.
Mark is a businessman and former Verizon executive. He is an economist, a lawyer, and a former Colorado Springs police officer. He and his wife, Jill, operate a small general law practice in Teller County.
If elected in November, Sievers would become the first Teller County resident elected to Colorado General Assembly in 78 years.
He is the former chairman of the Teller County Republicans. He is the vice-chairman of SCORE Chapter 206 that advises small businesses in Teller and El Paso Counties, and he sits on the Borad of Trustees at the Pikes Peak Regional Hospital, a full service rural hospital that opened in Teller County in October.
Carole Murray is the former Douglas County Clerk and Recorder, and she is currently employed as the legislative liaison for the Douglas County School District.
