RESORT GUESTS CASH IN ON WELL-PRESERVED MEMORIES
Amara Creekside Resort Rewards Highlands Ranch Resident for Winning Photo

SEDONA, Ariz. (Sept. 19, 2005) – In October 2004, the luxuriously modern Amara Creekside Resort in Sedona, launched an ongoing photography contest in search of “real-life” images of both Sedona landscapes and the resort for future marketing pieces. Since that time, an overwhelming 250 contestants have enthusiastically answered the call, and for this round of competition, five winners from across the Southwestern United States were selected.

Highlands Ranch resident David Harder was selected as one of five winners to receive a free weekend stay for two at the resort for his captivating photo, “Colors of Amara.”  Harder and his family were headed to Las Vegas for his daughter’s National Dance Championship and were looking for some peace and quiet at Amara. In a matter of moments, Harder was able to turn a relaxing afternoon on the creek with his family into another weekend full of relaxing afternoons.

“I’ve always loved photography,” said Harder. “I’ve just recently gotten back into it, because with the new capabilities and conveniences of digital photography, it’s easier to maintain and not so expensive.”

As a winning entrant, Harder will enjoy a $700 prize package for simply sharing a memorable moment with the resort that helped him create it. What a bargain!

The idea for the contest arose from the resort’s notion there are no better equipped experts than resort guests when it comes to capturing the genuine character and perception of the property and surrounding Red Rock backdrops.

“Both the quality and volume of entries for this year’s contest is astonishing. Our guests see things from an entirely different perspective, which enables us to consistently offer a fresh viewpoint on all that both Amara and Sedona have to offer. We’ll continue to tap into this valuable pool of photographers again and again in the future.” said Kevin Johnson, general manager of the resort.

The call for submissions is ongoing, and for the next round, Amara is requesting photos that include more people. The photos contributed by the winners of the initial round will be incorporated into Amara’s Web site as well as in promotional materials such as sales brochures and advertisements.  If you’re ready to be rewarded for your photos, please see official contest rules at www.amararesort.com/photos.
