Fido's favorite playground might soon see a facelift. The Highlands Ranch Metro District is asking residents for feedback on upgrades they would like to see at local dog parks.
More than 10 years ago, the metro district became one of the first in the area to provide dog parks in the community. There are currently four off-leash areas in Highlands Ranch. Residents can offer thoughts on how they rate the dog parks at survey available online at highlandsranch.org under "Parks and Open Space."
The survey also asks residents if they would like to see additional amenities like benches, loop trails, shade shelters or water features, said Kari Larese, community relations specialist for the metro district.
Residents also can offer their own ideas for improvements. The survey will be available through the end of October.
The metro district has seen the popularity of dog parks continue to increase.
Users of the Hound Hill Dog Park at Highland Heritage Park have even set up their own Facebook page, Larese said.
