Dear Tabitha:
Well, this past weekend I took Wiggins fishing. He thought fly-fishing meant getting on a Frontier airlines plane and flying with Red the Fox to some resort. I explained to him that it was traditional for a Kat to go noodling for cat-fish.
Now, in case you aren't familiar with noodling as a form of fishing you can get the video on it that has been playing on TV. Basically, people get down in the water and feel along the banks of rivers for cat-fish lying in their holes. Then they coax them until they can put their hand in their mouth. They then gradually move them out of the hole and up onto the bank. Noodling is a favorite mid-western sport of red-necks and crackers who aren't smart enough to use a rod and reel for bass.
While we cats who live in the Rocky Mountains would prefer fly-fishing for trout, we respect all traditions, particularly when it involves a cat-fish. So, this is where I started Wiggins on his apprenticeship.
I have enclosed a couple of pictures of the catch.
Love, Mid-Night from the Oasis.
