Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie
and the Highlands Ranch Community Association teamed up again for the third annual In the Pink fashion show and champagne luncheon, held April 5 at the Recreation Center at Southridge, 4800 McArthur Ranch Road, in Highlands Ranch.
Guest speakers included 9News reporter
Kim Christiansen
and her sister
Keri Christiansen
. Keri is a breast cancer survivor, and the sisters urged women to get regular exams. Other breast cancer survivors shared their stories during the fundraiser.
The fashion show featured fine lingerie and other clothing modeled by Pampered Passions clients and volunteers, and some breast cancer survivors.
All proceeds from the fashion show will go to My House, a nonprofit organization based in Golden that provides "rest and solitude" -- including massages, manicures, pedicures and light lunches -- for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
HRCA Community Relations Manager
Jamie Noebel
said it will be a few days before it is determined how much money was raised. She said about 170 people were in attendance.
Noebel said the event started in 2006 after having a conversation with Pampered Passions owner
Alicia Vargo
.
"Breast cancer is so prevalent, we thought we'd see if there was something we could do," said Noebel, who is a breast cancer survivor. "We were looking for a different event that would really impact a charitable organization."
