Locals honor people with arthritis at annual walk
Contributed by: Charmaine Robledo/YourHub.com on 5/18/2008

In recognition of May being National Arthritis Month, local residents participated in the 2008 Arthritis Walk at Redstone Park in Highlands Ranch on May 18. According to Angie Hager with the Arthritis Foundation, about 600 people participated in the event. Walkers also were invited to bring along their dogs since they also get diagnosed with ailment.

The event raised funds and awareness for arthritis, which the Arthritis Foundation says is the nation's leading cause of disability. According to the foundation's Web site, about $46,000 has been donated towards the cause. They are still accepting donations and their goal is to raise $65,000.
