Ice Cream Social raises funds for monument

Sponsored by the Highlands Ranch Metro District and Littleton Fire Rescue, the 12th annual Ice Cream Social was held July 15 at Civic Green Park, 9370 Ridgeline Blvd., Highlands Ranch.

The Ice Cream Social is an annual fundraiser with a different beneficiary each year; all-you-can-eat ice cream cost $1 per person.

This year, the event raised $2,144 for the recently-dedicated Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument, bringing the current fundraising total to $188,480 of the $200,000 goal, according to Sherry Eppers, community relations manager for the Highlands Ranch Metro District.

Volunteers included Boy and Girl Scout troops and church members from Highlands Ranch, who served ice cream and offered face painting for children.
