You can't leave Deli Tech and still be hungry

Grade: A

Sometimes, you just crave food from a deli. There's something special about delis - they offer comfort foods, large portions of them, and, for the most part, the food is healthy and always fresh. Denver, however, suffers from a slight problem; the simple fact is that there are too few delis in the Mile High City. Of those limited choices, Deli Tech is a true gem. When you step through the door, you can forget about Denver as it is left outside. Once inside, you're transported directly to New York.

Sit down at the table, and you're immediately tempted with a complimentary bowl of pickles. Oftentimes, the servers will bring you a sampling of chopped liver and bagel chips while you're flipping through the immense menu.

Breakfast is served all day long. You can choose from Challah French toast, eggs, bagels, motzah brei and even a latke burrito.

If breakfast doesn't suit you, there are always lunch and dinner items to choose from. Start off with a bowl of motzah ball soup, filled with chunks of chicken and veggies, or any of their other soups, including borscht or mushroom barley. Deli Tech has an impressive array of salads and appetizers that will make your mouth water.

The sandwich menu is extensive as well. If your interests are hot or cold, Deli Tech has a sandwich for you. Meat will be piled on between your choice of sliced fresh breads and is served with a side of slaw, potato salad, homemade chips or fries. If a mix of meats is on your mind, Deli Tech can satisfy that need as well, with a plethora of combos and Reubens.

Entrees include brisket, liver and onions, broiled tuna or salmon, as well as open faced sandwiches that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Be sure to save room for dessert. Deli Tech's cheesecakes are shipped directly from New York and are about as dense as you can stand it. But, if you don't enjoy cheesecake, perhaps Bab's carrot cake will satisfy you. There are, of course, a variety of other desserts from which to choose. Any of them will prove a wise choice, with the only possible arguments coming from your waist line.

Deli Tech offers huge portions at prices that won't break the bank. The staff is very friendly, and each time I've visited, the servers have been more than attentive. If you don't want to eat in the restaurant, you can order any of their fresh meats, fish, breads, cheeses and desserts directly from the counter, order a complete meal to go, and even order directly from their website at http://www.delitech.com.

If you're looking for a great meal and good service all at a fair price, then Deli Tech is the place for you.
