Tattoos a hit with elementary kids

The line was long on Friday, October 2nd, but the wait was worth it.

At Copper Mesa Elementary's Fall Festival, local orthodontist Dr. Gary Holt's booth was a hot ticket. Five tickets, actually (or $1.00 that went directly to the school) per tattoo, with the kids choosing design, placements, and colors. A 2nd grader chose a purple and green striped dragon.

A 4th grader wanted a rainbow colored hippo. The bigger and brighter the better, and mom and dad are happy because it comes off.

Dr. Gary Holt, premier orthodontist in Highlands Ranch and winner of the Best of the Best 2009, offered the service as a fund raiser for the elementary school.

As a partner in the Douglas County Education Foundation (DCEF), Dr. Holt understands the importance of supporting our schools. He estimates that his staff of four applied over 250 tattoos that night at the festival.

That is a lot of hot tickets, and a lot of money raised for this Douglas County elementary school. Way to go!
