Do you enjoy spending time in the outdoors? Are you looking for an activity that you and your family can do together? Then get outside, grab a bike, and head to the mountains to do some single-track biking! Single-track is a long, curvy dirt path than runs through a dense forest or down a steep mountain. On the track there are a variety of rocks, small jumps, and many other surprises that make riding your bike on the track more exciting. You can bring your own bike or rent one. If you can, take a mountain bike because you will need the gears on the bike to get up and down the hills.
There are plenty of single-track trails in Colorado. A great beginner track in is Frisco off of the Dillon Reservoir bike path. The more advanced trails can be found at many ski areas, such as Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, or Keystone.
It is best to go single-track biking in the fall when the colorful leaves look like they are on fire, but you can also go single-tracking in the spring or summer. You can go at any time of day because it is always enjoyable.
You might be asking yourself who can do single-track. People who are athletic and know how to ride will love this activity. Families with kids can also have a great time, but should stick to easier paths at first. Single-track biking is a free, all-day or half-day activity that allows you to get exercise while having fun in the beautiful outdoors. If you are bored, then get outside and do some single-track.
