The Highlands Ranch Cycling Club was honored for the 14th consecutive year by the Colorado Chapter of the National MS Society.
In 2006, the Highlands Ranch Cycling Club participated in Colorado's MS 150 cycling event for the 15th consecutive year. For its results in 2006, the local cycling club received the Bronze Spokes award from the society.
In past years the cycling club has received the Gold and Silver Spokes awards from the National MS Society. The Highlands Ranch Cycling Club has been the top cycling club team in Colorado's MS 150 since 1992. The club's MS 150 teams compete against corporate teams with hundreds of members. Despite that seeming disadvantage, the club has outperformed these huge corporate teams.
The local cycling club has members from all over Colorado and is one of the largest cycling clubs in the state.
Cycling club President,
Bernie Greenberg
said, "we are incredibly proud to receive this award from the National MS Society and help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis".
"For a cycling club to achieve these results going up against massive corporate groups, is very gratifying. To know that fellow cyclists have fun and can do a great ride for such a great cause is a wonderful experience".
