Elite taekwondo athletes kicking it to gold


Eagle Spirt Academy's World ClassTaekwondo team competed November 15-16, 2008 at the Toronto Open, held in Toronto, Ontario. Coached by Master Robert Gallagher and Master Brian Gallagher, they came away with 9 medals for sparring and forms competition in the black belt division; 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. The gold medalists were: Aaron Porras- Jr. Featherweight, Ally Creel- Jr. Middleweight, Jacob Amerman-Jr. Welterweight, StephaniePopken- Jr. Flyweight, Malik Taylor- 12/13 yr. old. Silver medalists are Brian Gallagher- Olympic Featherweight and Ally Creel- Olympic Featherweight. Bronze medalist is Tia Day- 12-13 Yr. old in forms and sparring. Eagle Spirit Academy's World Class team have made taekwondo their first priority by committing to the strenuous work and demanding effort of training and year-round competition for Eagle Spirit Academy. Each member of the team is a current or past U.S. National champion or U. S. team member.
