Police blotter- Couple argues over dishes

MARIJUANA CONFISCATED

A 19-year-old woman was pulled over by a Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy at 11 p.m. May 2 near the intersection of West Bowles Avenue and South Ames Street. The officer noticed the car was a different color than what was listed on the cars' NCIC/CCIC records. When the deputy approached the car he smelled marijuana. The driver told the deputy there was no marijuana in the car that she knew about.The deputy searched the car and found a glass pipe and a film canister containing marijuana. The woman was issued a summons for possession of less than one once of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

GAS STOLEN

A 20-year-old employee of the Little Log Store at 6328 S. Turkey Creek Road reported theft of gas to a Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy at 7:18 p.m. May 4. The employee told the deputy he saw a man drive up to one of the pumps and press the "pay inside" button on the pump. The employee said the man pumped some gas and drove away without paying. The deputy ran the license plate of the car, but could not find a match.

TRUCK TAMPERED WITH

A Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy was sent to the 7700 block of Firehouse Hill Road on a report of a suspicious incident at 5:04 p.m. May 5. A 79-year-old man told the deputy he removed the snowplow and chains from his truck the previous evening. At 9:30 a.m. the next day he drove into Denver. While driving on Sheridan Boulevard, he felt the back end of his truck drop. The man pulled over and discovered that his rear tire was only held on by only three lug nuts. The man said he believes someone loosened the lug nuts on his wheel.

COUPLE ARGUES OVER DISHES

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on the 5300 block of South Union Way at 1:03 a.m. May 3. A 40-year-old woman told the deputies her 46-year-old husband and she had some friends over for dinner. The woman said her husband had been drinking beer and vodka over the course of the evening. When the couple's friends left, the husband told his wife he would do the dishes and she could go to bed. When she refused to go to bed, he began yelling at her to "get out of the (expletive) kitchen." The man kept yelling at his wife for about 10 minutes before she called the Sheriff's office. The woman told the deputy her husband never touched her or said anything threatening to her. The deputies determined no crime had been committedand waited for the woman to back a bag so she could stay at a hotel for the night.

MAN DEMANDS MONEY

A Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy was sent to the 6500 block of South Cody Way at 4 a.m. May 3 on a report of a threatening phone call. A 25-year-old woman told the deputy she received a call from a man at 3:45 a.m. demanding money. The woman hung-up and the man called back short time repeating his demand for money or else he would "open up my business on your face." The deputy called the number and left a message on the phone's voice mail telling the owner of the phone to stop calling the woman. The woman later determined the phone belonged to a friend of her brothers who had lost it at a party. The woman determined the calls were a prank and she has received no other calls since the original incident.
