We started sorting out boxes and boxes of clothes, shoes and blankets that were sent over from the United States. We had to sort them out into 80 piles to be distributed at Istalif, another town that SOZO is working with. This is something the group really needed. It seemed like everyone seemlessly came together to get the job done.
After lunch, we went to a service in Kabul. In Islam, Friday is the holy day, and the few Christians here in Afghanistan acclimated, hosting a service in a large house. During the service, some of the children went into a different room for "Friday School." We saw people from all over the world at the service, but especially Europe and the United States. The pastor was from Ireland.
That night, we went to a buffet at the Inter-Continental Hotel in downtown Kabul. The food was typical for what we've been having in the guest house, with a lot of meat, rice and flat bread. But I heard the pistachio pudding was very good.
We did have our first sick person on the trip. (Me). I took some medicine and felt fine in the morning, but that's why this letter is a little late - sorry.
