East Boulder County Artists, or EBCA, is celebrating its Tenth Anniversary. A decade ago, David Beumee, a well-known Lafayette ceramic artist, began a personal quest to create a group in Eastern Boulder County, which could help to instill an arts spirit in the booming region. The non-profit took off and now counts well over thirty member artists.
To help celebrate this, the tenth year, EBCA is promoting its Annual Studio Tour. The tour runs the first weekend in May. The organizations reputation for excellence is well known, and attendance and interest from the community continues to grow. Media categories include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, fused glass, sculpture, ceramics, cast paper, bookmaking, art quilting, woodcarving, photography, collage and jewelry making. This year you can visit artists in their studios on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 & 3 from 10AM - 5PM. Brochures and maps are available at numerous venues throughout the region or, can be downloaded from www.ebcacolorado.org.
EBCA represents artists from Longmont, Lafayette, Louisville and Erie. The focus of the organization is first and foremost community outreach and secondly supporting working artists in the area. The group is always seeking new members as well as community sponsors. If you would like to help, please feel free to contact us through our website mentioned previously. EBCA sponsors many events throughout the year in its mission to give back to the community. In addition to the Studio Tour, this year they also are represented at
· Big Enough! Miniature show at Boulder Arts & Craft Gallery: April 29 - May 27 in Boulder; and at
· Whole Foods in Superior, Wednesday, April 29th from 5 until 9 PM.
Additionally, EBCA is currently showing at the Art Underground in Louisville and at the Lafayette Public Library.
If your are an art lover, an artist or just enjoy the arts in general, please join us in this special celebration. We look forward to seeing you!
