Ask Dot: Lafayette lights displays

I am new to the area. I have heard that there are wonderful light shows in the Lafayette area. I have researched the newspapers and am having no luck. Could you help me? Thank you.

Suzi:

Here are a few ideas for you regarding the lights shows/displays in Lafayette you inquire about. As far as city-designed displays, there aren't any. According to Public Information Officer Alexandra Lynch, the city budget isn't quite cutting it this year to fund any specific lights displays or shows. However, Main Street and the Chamber of Commerce are beautifully decorated, so check it out.

If you're looking to weave through the neighborhood streets, Lafayette resident Alek Komarnitsky's home is quite the hit. It's located in the Blue Heron neighborhood at 2510 Blue Heron Circle, Lafayette, 80026. To see photos of his home, visit

Komarnitsky says other homes in his neighborhood are definitely worth a gander. He also highly recommends paying a visit to the Indian Peaks neighborhood, located near the intersection of 95 th Street and Baseline Road. As far as events and displays that are still happening around the Boulder County area, you can find a list of events here:

The Pearl Street Mall in Boulder is currently decorated with bright lights - and the largest public lights display on the mall is the Boulder County Courthouse, located on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall.

Another wonderful attraction is the Koenig Alumni Center, located at the intersection of Broadway Street and University Boulevard on the CU campus.

Happy holidays!
