Members of the LafayetteYouth Advisory Committee: Rebecca Balsley, Brianna Rollings and Ryan Teusch, recently completed painting a large canvas mural designed to bring awareness to the serious issues of teen depression and sucide. Designed by Teri Davis Padilla, the 8'x8' mural will be traveling throughout East Boulder County schools, churches, non-profit agencies, city buildings and other public places. It is currently on display at the Bob L.Burger Recreation Center.
According to sources, Colorado is ranked numberONE for teen depression and number EIGHT for teen suicide. Boulder County leads the entire state in sucides by those in the 15 to 24 age group! It's a very serious problem that everyone truly needs to be aware of. The exhibit
"Listen to the Tears"
is meant to bring awareness, while also sharing resources, hot lines and other information for youth-in-crisis.View the images for a peek at this fantastic piece of community awareness artwork!
