The 2008 Boulder County Fair is fast approaching. 4-H and FFA youth are working hard on a variety of projects to bring to the Fair and show their "stuff". Projects range from baking and sewing to chickens and cows.
The Poultry Show will begin on Saturday, August 2 nd with the Poultry Team getting all the birds into the correct categories so they can be judged on Sunday, August 3 rd. During judging certain rows of the barn will be roped off so the judge can work undisturbed, but there will still be a lot of great poultry to see. After all the judging is complete and the winners are determined many of these projects will be offered for sale to the general public.
If you are interested in starting your own flock of ducks, chickens, or other poultry we invite you to come look through the barn on Saturday the 2 nd and then come back on the 3 rd with your cages. The youth owners of these birds will put "For Sale" signs on the cages of birds they would like to sell after judging is completed. We are anticipating the sale to begin around 7:00 p.m. on August 3 rd. Sales are negotiated between the youth and the buyer and after a release is signed by a member of the poultry team the birds can be released and taken home.
As you may or may not know the Fair is going back to it's roots this year, which means in part that General Admission and Parking are free so we invite you to come several times and be a part of this wonderful event.
