The Journey for Justice has reached Colorado all the way from the East Coast.
Ken Locke
, a landscape engineer from South Carolina, started his journey three months ago, and has ridden more than 2,000 miles on his bike to try and tell his story to the world around him. Last year, an ex-lawman from Texas rode his horse from California to Washington, on behalf of L.E.A.P, for the same cause ... nine months in the saddle! What could possibly be so important to these people and their supporters that they would go to such lengths?
The answer is, decriminalization of a plant that that has been scientifically proven to have medicinal qualities and the ability to allievate people's suffering, and has never been shown to have ever harmed anyone, except for the fact that it is an illegal drug and people get killed over illegal drugs just like they got killed over illegal alcohol during prohibition. It isn't the alcohol and it isn't the medicinal plants (whether from Michocan or Peru) that cause the problem, it's the culture created when white powder or the white lightning is worth its weight in gold. Take away the money and the glamor, and drugs, all drugs, can be seen for what they are -- a medical problem, not a legal one.
Suffering and sick people (read all about Ken and his friends at
www.j4j.info
), law enforcement people (
www.leap.cc
) and local people who care (
www.NORMLforBoulder.org
) are all working to right this wrong. These are reasonable, everyday people, and some are your next door neighbors. Watch for Ken's trailer around, or contact him through his Web site to hear the whole story.

Very funny, Jared Keller. Go have another beer. Any serious person knows alcohol is much more dangerous than marijuana. It's quite bad enough that recreation marijuana users are persecuted, but it's hard to believe how creeped out the federales are being about medicinal marijuana. What a gang of sadists.
