Colorado Therapy Animals, based in Lafayette is bringing smiles to people's faces! This group's Pet Partners teams use the powerful human/animal bond to reach out to the community, and provide quality interaction with the public in many ways.
Medical studies have shown that animals have a comforting, reassuring effect on people. Also, animals pay no attention to age, physical disability or emotional dysfunction. They accept people as they are, making them the ideal therapy companion. They can truly make a difference in the lives they touch.
CTA members volunteer their time, working with their own Delta Society registered pets in a variety of therapeutic capacities, including visits to hospitals, nursing homes and the grieving children's center, and particpating in the children's READ program in local libraries and schools.
Monthly meetings are held at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital. CTA also offers Delta Society workshops and evaluations. For more information, please visit www.coloradotherapyanimals.org or www.deltasociety.org
