The Lafayette Baseball Club 10 year old competitive baseball team was crowned champions of the Broomfield Slam Tournament held in Broomfield on May 30th and 31st. The Warriors went undeafeated on Saturday during the pool play rounds beating the Berthod Spartans (11-7) and Brighton Bad Boyz (10-1).
Going into Sunday's elimination round the #3 seeded Warriors defeated the #6 seed Broomfield Thunderbolts (11-3), the #1 seed Colorado Grizzlies (17-15) and finally in the championship game defeating the #2 seed Thornton Sidewinders (15-11).
By winning this tournament the Warrior 10 year olds qualify for the USSSA state tournament to be held July 10th, 11th and 12 in West Metro Denver.
The Warrior coaches are Rocky Milano, Ken Gambon, David Jessip, and Dave Bach. Players are Lucas DiSabato, Eric Gambon, Jason Dolph, Anthony Losasso, Balin Jessip, Joe Milano, Brandon Larson, Jake Burke, Kaleb Sadoff-Tierney, Mac Post, and Von Bach.
