So, you've got the weekend stretching ahead of you, and you're looking for something fun to do. Check out the abundance of events going on right in your neighborhood:
Friday
-The Lakewood Cultural Center is
hosting an opening reception for "
Kitchen Goddess" exhibit, complete with real kitchen goddesses, from 6 - 8 p.m. If you can't make the reception, be sure to find another time to stop by the exhibit, which will be on displaying until March 23.
Saturday
-
Wheelchair basketball is rolling into Lakewood as the four top North American teams battle it out at the Colorado Christian University Fieldhouse. Games will be played both Saturday and Sunday and are free.
-The Missola Children's Theater production of
The Little Mermaid, starring local kids, is sure to be adorable.
-A historic and social center park,
Lakewood's Heritage Center features a look at 20th Century lifestyles.
-
The 29th Annual "
Views of the East and West" exhibit sponsored by Lakewood-based Mountainside Art Guild is currently on display at the South Union Gallery through February 24.
-There is always something fun to do at
Whole Foods Belmar, whether it's shopping, taking a free class or tasting samples.
Sunday
-All Lakewood residents are invited to a
special reception to to
thank all of the citizens who helped in large and small ways to save Iron Spring Park from development.
