Twitter just came of age. Outrage continues in Iran over last week's election results. Thousands continue to protest.

The government is cracking down on media, banning cameras and foreign news organizations. Officials thought they'd plugged all the leaks.

So how is so much news coming out?

By Twitter. Brad Reed of Computer World says that Twitter accounts are providing the best coverage, in many cases the only coverage.

Up until now, Twitter has generated more jokes than results. It's just proven it can be used for more than telling your friends you went roller-blading.

The free flow of information can be good for freedom. Or at least planting the seeds of freedom.
