I was somewhat surprised to
read this article about our standing in the world when it comes to broadband.
American ranks 15th in the world when it comes to available broadband service. South Korea is ranged at the top but countries including Iceland and Lithuania beat us out as well.
To be fair, we're a huge nation with miles and miles...or miles and miles...where broadcast services are simply not available unless via satellite.
We do better when it comes to overall quality of Internet services. It's a start.
But being ranked #15 in broadband is a shock. At least to me.
We can do better. We have to do better. Millions are without access to the Internet. They are on the wrong side of the digital divide, make that chasm.
