On the eve of July 20, the crowds of witches and wizards excitedly poured into the bookstore. They pushed and shoved impatiently as they waited to get their hands on the the latest
Harry Potter
book. Suddenly, the lights went out, and the store was plunged into darkness. The light-hearted chatter ceased. Even the whir of the expresso machine was silenced as the wind began to howl. And then somebody screamed ...
No, that's not
really
what happened at Borders Friday night, but the store at Colorado Mills was transformed as costumed Harry Potter fans enjoyed the night's festivities. My favorite part was when the group on photos 4 and 5 marched in and yelled, "
Expecto petrolum!"
-- a spell from the Harry Potter books. They were great. Here are a couple photos I captured of the party.
(PS -- I did get a copy of the book -- it starts out quite dark, enough to give you chills. I find myself wondering how Harry and his friends can possibly stop this evil wizard. But, same as all the books in the series, I can't put it down. If I could get away with taking a sick day to read Harry Potter, I would. Let me know your thoughts on the book -- but no spoilers, please!)
