Hi, I'm Erin Feese, a community journalist here at YourHub.com.
As journalists, we are always seeking to uncover the newsy, the exciting, the weird and the heartwarming stories going on around us. The greatest part of YourHub.com is that you can be the one to tell your story. Share your tasty holiday recipe with me

Writing about Thanksgiving got me thinking about food. (Or, it could just be lunchtime.) I enjoy baking around the holidays because you can always give your delicious creations away as gifts or bring them to a gathering for people to enjoy. Anyway, I am always looking for new recipes to try out, and I thought I'd ask YourHub.com readers if they'd like to swap recipes. If I get enough submissions, I could put together a recipe page for one of the upcoming print editions. Sound like fun?

Here's one of my favorite dessert recipes, courtesy my mom. If you like apple pie and cheesecake, this gives you the best of both worlds.

Apple Cheesecake Torte

3/4 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

16 oz. cream cheese (softened)

1/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

3/4 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups tart apples (peeled and thinly sliced) -- Granny Smiths worth great

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Sliced almonds to sprinkle on top, if you'd like

- Combine first four ingredients. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch spring form pan.

- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar.

- Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Pour over the crust.

- Mix apples, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Spoon over filling.

- Bake at 350° F for 55-65 minutes or until the center is set. Cool on wire rack.

- Refrigerate until served.

- Makes 8-10 servings.

Post your own recipe here or in the comment space below (if your recipe will fit).

Bourbon Balls: Ingredients needed are 1 cup of chopped pecans; 1 ounce of bourbon; 2 & 1/2 cups of crushed vanilla wafers; 1 cup of powdered sugar; 2 ounces of bourbon; additional powdered sugar for coating. Mix together the chopped pecans and 1 ounce of bourbon in a large, glass or Pyrex bowl and let set for 15 minutes; next add the vanilla wafer crumbs; 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 ounces of bourbon, mixing the ingredients thoroughly. Form the resulting mixture into bite-sized balls and coat them in the additional powdered sugar. Seal tightly and store in the refrigerator if not serving soon (to preserve the flavor). For variety try amaretto, Irish Cream, schnapps (peppermint, cinnamon, butterscotch), whiskey or flavored brandy instead of bourbon and experiment with ginger, cinnamon and such spices mixed in with the coating sugar.
