Honest Boy
The whole town was talking about the passing of Jim,
They knew him so well they would point and say, "That's him."
He was also know both far and wide,
For his honesty and he had nothing to hide.
Joe and Vera was talking about Jim,
Who also was well known as Slim.
Joe said, "Two weeks ago he borrowed seven dollars from me,
He was so honest he will pay me back, you'll see."
"When I die and go to heaven, Honey,
Jim will give me back my money."
"Suppose when you die Jim's not in heaven?"
"Then you collect for me the seven!"

I don't have a list of when these poems and articles were written. I would guess this was one of Dad's later one because, in my view, it is shorter and tighter than his earlier writing.
Honest Boy brought another rejection.
