Blog Entry 39 of 265 I blog, therefore I am.
Politics to life in general, a view from a slightly right of center/off-kilter guy.

Will that be paper or progress?
Contributed by: Brian Olson   on 1/24/2008

By all accounts, it looks like we'll be voting the old-fashioned way this year with paper ballots.

2008 will be just like 1908.

With 80% of the country using computers every day at home or work, about the only folks who can't seem to figure them out are the various state and county election leaders.

Maybe the Video Professorcan help them!

About the only people who truly will be impacted by using paper ballots are the news outlets. They actually may not have total vote counts before the 10pm news.

That's fine, I can wait until morning to see who is elected dog catcher or even President of the United States. I doubtthe worldwill change either way while I'm asleep.

And as I understand it, we'll have a choice of voting by mail-in ballot or showing up at the polls. Last time around it was fun to sit at the kitchen table and fill out the ballot. It made it even more fun when I saw coverage of people standing in line for 4 hours.

The way government runs things these days, paper may indeed, be progress.

Regardless of what our fearless state leaders figure out, make sure you vote!
