Bertolli Running for Mayor of Lakewood

Rita Bertolli has announced her candidacy for the 2007 Lakewood, CO Mayoral election this coming November. Rita was born and raised in Ward 4 of Lakewood. Last fall she led a group of Lakewood citizens in defeating a citywide Special Election measure to trade 22 acres of Lakewood parkland for an adjacent drainage strip. Despite heavy backing by the City Council and ample spending by the Canadian developer, the measure was defeated by an almost 15 point margin. Rita brings youth, vitality, and change to the mayoral race. She owns a broadcasting company in Denver and works for Outward Bound in Golden CO. In addition, she is the President of Conservation of Open Parkland Space, a neighborhood association on Green Mountain.
