Open the Debates to the...gulp....people?
Contributed by: John Scherer   on 10/8/2008

Just read this very interesting article on wired.com. A group called the Open Debate Coalition sent letters to both campaigns with a novel idea.

Using Internet technology, open the debates to real people. You know, folks like you and me.

Sorry Tom. Sorry Gwen. Sorry Pundits.

Both campaigns like the idea. Real questions from real people. CNN tried this last year via youtube. Critics say they were too picky when picking questions.

Maybe Lincoln was on to something with the whole deal about government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Count me in. I didn't invent the Internet, but have taught millions to use the darn thing. What better way than this?
